Valentine's Day is sneaking up on us - here are some crafty ideas for gifts, favors, and decor! *Check back for more pictures and tutorials!* Some of these projects are made on my new xTool M1 Hybrid Laser and Blade Cutting Machine which you can read more about here. However, if you have a Cricut Maker or Maker 3, you can cut basswood to create the wood projects as well.
Let's jump right in!
1. Wooden Signs/Vinyl Signs
I am not going to lie - this is one of my favorite projects that I have made to date. I used my free Hello Valentine SVG on my xTool m1 that I cut of of basswood. I painted those bits and glued them to a heart shaped sign from the Dollar Tree. From there I cut some paper roses on my Cricut and decorated. If you don't have a way to cut basswood, not a problem switch it out for vinyl or HTV and this sign will be just as beautiful!
2. Paper Flowers - Specifically Paper Roses
Paper flowers are so much fun to make and I have plenty of free flower templates to choose from! You can add them to cards, signs, and even put them up as wall decor! Check out my tutorial on how to make my free paper rose SVG to give your sweetheart a rose that will never die.
Need something for the front door? Then grab some paper and glue and make this paper wreath (best if you keep it from getting wet though)! Free Template and directions can be found here.
5. Beer Mug
6. Wine Glass
I am a wine girly, and I seem to make myself a new glass for almost every holiday, so why would I leave out Valentine's Day? These make great Galentine's Day gifts for your friends or make a matching set for you and your partner.
7. Kids Candy Cup
I love a good Dollar Tree blank (and I think I should do a blog post about the best blanks from there soon) but these cups are great for kids gifts. I used some glitter vinyl to add my Love Bug SVG file and you can fill them with candy and small toys. Wrap with some clear plastic for a cute and budget friendly DIY Valentine's Day gift for the kids.
8. Heart Topiary
Going into making this, I was not sure if I would love it, but I absolutely do. I will be making a tutorial on this very soon so make sure you are signed up for my newsletter below to see when it comes out. For now you can. grab the simple hydrangea SVG File for free under my community SVG files. Once you sign up for my newsletter you will receive the password shortly after.
9. DIY Cards
I feel like this is a given, but you can always make a DIY card with your Cricut. I used this snowy gnome for my V-Day Card and you can grab 17 more snow themed SVGs for free at the bottom of this blog post!
10. Tic Tac Toe Board
Again, if you don't have a way to cut wood thats ok! You can make this out of vinyl and the XO pieces out of paper or you can grab plastic chips and put vinyl on them! There is always a creative way to make things work. I decided to leave this XO Tic Tac Toe unfinished. I love the way the plain wood looked!
11. Valentine's Day Shaker
This kind of goes with the Valentine's Day DIY Cards but you can make a shaker topper, card, or banner if you want to add a little spark into your craft. You can grab a free shaker card SVG File here for your love.
12. Cupcake Toppers
I am so excited to make these for my sons class for Valentine's Day. You can grab everyones name and customize each topper. A simple heart attached to a small dowel or toothpick works great!
13. Lollipop Holders
These are such a fun addition to your candy favors and they go together so fast. Plain candy wrappers are out once your become a crafter!
14. DIY Favors for the Kiddos
I plan on making the lollipop holders AND some fun favors for my little dude and his class. My son is a huge fan of the incredible hulk so thats the theme I will probably stick with but you can make ANY theme for these! Just pick a shape (a heart is great and I have free basic shapes here for download) and add a cute saying with your Cricut pens, a small image and now you have a unique favor that will stand out!
