These glasses are ready to go in terms of the design but feel free to make them your own! You can personalize them with names, colors, and more!
In terms of sizing, I made the total project around 7.5 inches wide to create a 5.25 wide glasses frame. You can always measure your face in the front to see if you need them a bit wider. Make sure when you are resizing that you are resizing the entire project and the arms of the glasses are also getting resized.
Don't forget to change the small lines on the arms of the New Years Glasses to score. You can also omit this if you do not have a scoring tool bu deleting those lines or hiding them.
Once you have this done, these are ready to be sent over to our machines. I cut everything out of card stock paper and used a mix of glitter and foil paper from Michaels stores. I suggest a thicker card stock like 80 lb weight if you have it available! I also used Bearly Arts glue and hot glue to assemble the glasses. That is truly all you need in terms of materials!
Once everything is cut, I started with my layers for the 2023. I figured this would be easier to start with in terms of assembly before the arms are attached. I used my Bearly Arts craft glue to attach all the layers of the numbers on but you can also add some height with some foam tape if you prefer.
Next, I built all of my stars with the two layers and some craft glue as well. Again, foam tape is optional if you want to add depth.
Next, I added on the arms, do you best to attach these as straight as possible and make sure the curve is turned down on the correct side. I used my craft glue to attach these and suggest something flat so that they don't have any extra width.
Once I had both of my arms attached, I went through and added in my stars for some extra detail - you can also add the persons name, gems, glitter!
Now you can rock out for the New Years in your DIY New Years Glasses!
