This banner SVG template can be used across all party decor so we don't need to limit ourselves to just USA theme but if you want to replicate this exact banner, I have the SVG file ready to be uploaded right into Cricut Design Space here.
If you are having any trouble - learn how to download and upload all of the free SVG files on my website here.
This banner took me less than 30 minutes to complete from start to finish. It's a super quick and easy piece of DIY Party Decor you can cut and assemble from your Cricut. Just follow these steps and get to partying.
I made this free SVG file for the banner as easy to use as I could - once you have it uploaded into design space you can resize to how you like. I changed mine to a width of 35 inches so it's a nice sized banner.
I then went in and color synced each item so the white and red matched and I had less to cut mat wise. If you haven't used the color sync feature in Cricut Design Space it can be found under the Make It button (on desktop) and it makes it so you can see each piece in a color bracket. From there you can move around pieces or entire colors to match other colors! It's awesome for when you have two colors that are close to each other but mean to be the same or to make a more cohesive color palette.
Last step is to send to your machine - I am cutting everything out of paper.
I pulled my mat away from my paper to avoid major curling and then sorted the pieces out into stacks. These way, I knew I had all my pieces and could work in stages to build the final banner.
I started with my bun, topped with the hotdog, I used my glue to secure these layers together. For the smaller piece of the bun on top I used foam mounting tape to give some dimension to the file. I finished by gluing on the ketchup and mustard!
These red pieces line up perfectly on the edge of the baseball and I attached with a little glue.
I ran my top layer of the banner (red) through my Sizzix texture boutique with the polkadot folder. This step is optional - I have been wanting to get an embossing machine and I am so lucky to have a friend gift me one. They add such a nice touch to your projects.
I did this for all of the red top layers of the banner. I need to stock up on some more folders (and I am trying to learn how to make my own) so that I have more options for designs.
I used glue to attach the baseball, hotdog, and USA letters to the red pieces of my banner. I wanted these to lie flat while the rest of the banner would have a 3-D look.
I used foam mounting tape in the corners to attach all my layers - take your time when lining everything up!
Make sure the foam tape doesn't cover the holes in the back part of the banner so we can string through our twine!
I started by stringing through the banner since the stars don't have holes in them. Double check that you are putting the letters in the correct order! Leave yourself some slack on both ends of the twine or string so you can move the pieces for placement and have room to tie up the banner.
After I have them all strung on, I moved them down the twine towards the middle and gave myself some space for the stars to be glued on in between the baseball and USA and the hotdog and USA. You can always duplicate when making the project to get more starts. Play around with it, this is your Cricut project!
Once I spaced everything out I hot glued my stars on by one of the points, you can also glue in the middle depending on your preference.
